Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room Empty
PostSubject: Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room   Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room EmptyWed May 09, 2012 10:17 am

This may develop into a series of RMTs but I doubt it. This team started as an abomination by an old Realgam Member "Chanler" he was in the tutoring program and requested me because I was listed as the trick room expert. After a few matches I could tell he was going to be a piece of work and so was his team. I had him send me an exportable which I took to a few members of the tutoring program to fix. I would have forgotten all about it but one day I was looking for a "bad" team to use and saw the name "Chanler Trick Room" and loaded it. I won the tournament I was in with it and kept it loaded all day, it impressed me and since everyone helped make it, I feel like I should share it, so enough of the tl;dr, let's get to it:

Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room 354Kingtrace @ Focus Sash
Insomnia
252 Atk
0 Spe 0 Def 0 HP 0 SpDef 31 Atk ?SpAtk
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
Trick Room
Taunt
Shadow Claw
Destiny Bond

WARNING: you will have to change the IVs of every pokemon to the ones listed, the importable won't do it for you
This started out as a Dusknoir with Trick Room, Shadow Sneak and two other moves, basically it never killed anything, we tried to work around it not changing the species but TR Dusknoir just doesn't work as a lead. Finally Kingtrace suggested the Secretive Ghost with a surprise, Bannette. This is good against dual hazard no taunt leads, and attacking leads, and generally functions better against players who don't know what a Bannette does, fortunately Bannete's lips are sealed so not many people know what it does.
Spoiler:

Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room 143Im Babycakes @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
0 Spe 31 everything else
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
Curse
Frustration
Rest
Crunch

Since Snorlax will normally only have 3 turns of trick room to play with, it's better to get stuff done during those 3 turns and if it's alive after that, then start setting up. That said there are very specific examples of times it's acceptable to curse before trick room is up. This snorlax like everything else on the team started out as a disaster, I just can't remember what it had other than body slam.

Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room 589Invalid @ Life Orb
Swarm
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
0 Spe 31 everything else
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
Iron Head
Megahorn
Aerial Ace
Swords Dance

This one still wasn't finished when I loaded the team, I had to fill in the set in the middle of the tournament, it may not seem like much but 2 megahorns at +2 usually kill 2 things. this is a fast paced trick room team, and this is a fast paced sweeper. I have no idea what this started as, probably Ursaring.

Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room 224Obvious @ Choice Specs
Sniper
252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
0 Spe 31 everything else
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
Water Spout
Ice Beam
Energy Ball
Fire Blast

As much as I'd like to take credit for this, I think it was so blatantly obvious that I just happened to be the first one to mention it, there's pretty much no reason not to run Octillery. Octillery + Free Switch-in = DESTROLISHED. I know this started out as something retarded, I just can't remember what, probably that psuedo-Luvdisc-evo.

Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room 475Chanler's Baby @ Leftovers
Steadfast
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
0 Spe 31 everything else
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
Bulk Up
Drain Punch
Zen Headbutt
Trick Room

We wanted to change this a lot more, but he whole-heartedly objected, this is the best we could come up with that he was willing to use, it's not a bad set and in the team's final form it fits well, but it was painful to keep at first.

Help a Team in Need Act. 1 Chanler Trick Room 579All King @ Life Orb
Magic Guard
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
0 Spe 31 everything else
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
Trick Room
Psychic
Focus Blast
Shadow Ball

Kingtrace will always be the most notable person for using Trick Room Reuniclus, I've been on the wrong end of it enough to know he knows how to use it. He was the one who introduced me to it. I still love CM but Trick Room is a much quicker way to get a similar effect. I know this started as something retarded, again I have no idea what it was because I purged my mind of the original team, there's some knowledge you don't need.

Importable

I won't be making a threat list for this, feel free to rate it, use it, change the nicknames, do whatever, just have fun. if you make an RMT of your version of the same team link back to the original thread.
