PostSubject: Celebi can U-turn guys (Immunities U-turn Core)   Wed Apr 10, 2013 2:31 am

This team was originally intended to be an introductory team, but I got a little bit too attached to Celebi and Darmanitan, which aren't "good" in that they require the user to be careful. I'll continue to work on an introductory u-turn core, but for now enjoy this.

Celebaby (Celebi) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Leaf Storm
- Stealth Rock
- Trick

Celebi outspeeds just about every lead and can choose a move according to the opposing lead. Celebi should ideally be U-turning against every lead into a Pokemon that's immune or very resistant to the move they'll use. Leaf Storm is usually for late game since it doesn't tend to one shot leads. Stealth Rock isn't that vital to the set, but if you can't reflect Stealth Rock with Espeon successfully it's nice to have a backup. Trick is a last resort for crippling Pokemon that give the team a lot of trouble.

This is Draco (Darmanitan) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Superpower

In most cases Darmanitan's job is to just U-turn into a something safe like Celebi. Once people are aware of that (usually after you do it 1 time) they'll start to stay in and that's when Darmanitan can predict, Flare Blitz pretty much one shots anything that's weak to it and if they do switch out, there's a good chance their switch in will get 2 shotted. When things are at low health Rock Slide or Super Power can be used accordingly, but they're not always safe.

Beakachu (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Trait: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Volt Switch
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Zapdos is the final part of the "volt-turn" core. Zapdos's general role is to just pick the move that will kill the opponent, if none will, it should either Volt Switch or Roost. For things it can't ohko, if they're not a problem it can roost, otherwise it should Volt Switch out. Zapdos will sometimes have to hard switch, anything faster with a super effective move is a good reason to do so.

I'm a Girl! (Heatran) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 Spd
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- AncientPower
- Substitute

This Heatran set is just fun, and a fire and poison immunity, and for covering every single type resistance with Celebi. The idea is to send it in safely, set up a substitute while they switch, and then not have to predict. Ancient Power is weaker than Hidden Power Rock, but the 10% chance to boost every stat just isn't worth passing up, if it weren't for that 10% chance, Heatran would be running HP Ice or Grass. The best Pokemon to send Heatran in on are Walls.

ThxFrost (Espeon) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Morning Sun

Espeon is the quintessential U-turn recipient of 5th Gen, it's pretty much the sole user of Magic Bounce since we all know Xatu is inferior. Fpr anyone that doesn't know Magic Bounce reflects all status moves that target the user to the opponent's side of the field, including Stealth Rock. Psyshock HP Fighting and Shadow Ball provide the best coverage it can pull of without losing a Speed IV (HP Fire). It's best to send Espeon in on Pokemon that might use Hazards after they've already picked a move (not when Ferrothorn is out and the pokemon on your side dies).

Just Vaporeon (Vaporeon) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Wish
- Protect
- Ice Beam

Vaporeon is the go to wall of the team, physical and special, if you don't know what to do, it's probably send in Vaporeon. Vaporeon is able to stall out attackers that don't set up, with Wish Protect and Leftovers she can recover off any move that does less than 62% to her. She's great for life orb stall, and just walling things that die to a single Scald or Ice Beam, but if it calls for it, she can be used to Scald burn. It's best to send Vaporeon in on Life Orbed or Choice Scarfed Pokemon.

Immunities: 6
Ground
Electric
Fire
Poison
Status Moves
Water

Issues with the team: well it doesn't have many immunities for an immunities team for starters. But to be perfectly honest, nothing has given me tremendous trouble so far. It hasn't been thoroughly tested, so if anyone sees a glaring weakness let me know.

Spoiler:
