Overview:
Dusclops is an outstanding Pokemon. Its superb defenses are raised to astronomical heights via the use of Eviolite. It can take hits of all types incredibly well, and is extremely difficult to KO. While it is somewhat outclassed by pure physical and special walls like Cofagrigus and Chansey, Dusclops is essentially unmatched as a mixed wall. Because of this, it can function well on its own, or work in a defensive core. Overall Dusclops is a fantastic wall, and it will serve you well on almost any team.

Sets:
Trick Room Support
Breakdown (Dusclops) (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Trick Room
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Seismic Toss
For some bizarre reason, Trick Room Dusclops is barely even a thing. Despite its obscurity, however, Dusclops is an excellent Trick Room user. This is due to the fact that its really freaking hard to kill. You can use it in conjunction with a sweeper like Reuniclus or Cofagrigus. While they're busy setting up and sweeping, Dusclops can function as a backup Trick Room setter for the rest of your team. This way, if one of your other Trick Room users is ko'd, other Trick Room dependent Pokemon on your team will still be able to function. Plus, it can complement either of them as a physical or special wall. This set makes use of Will-O-Wisp for a specific reason. Reuniclus, Cofagrigus, and most other Trick Room sweepers can set up Calm Minds all day, but in some cases, especially for the former, physical hits can be a problem. WoW is more for the rest of your team than Dusclops, as it can protect other pokes from physical hits. However, Toxic or Taunt can be ran instead if desired. Dusclops' low HP makes Pain Split a very effective option for recovering HP and wearing foes down. Seismic Toss can be replaced with Nighshade depending on your EVs. If Dusclops is running specially defensive, it can stay in on most ghosts and use Nightshade. If its running physical, it won't be able to wall ghosts quite as well, and is better off aiming at things like Chansey.

RestTalk
Breakdown (Dusclops) @ Eviolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Night Shade
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
As the name implies, this is a rest talk Dusclops. Because it has WoW, it is better to run max spdef in this case. For the same reasons mentioned above, this set is running Nightshade over Seismic Toss. Be warned, however, as RestTalk can and will screw you over at some point. But when it does, Dusclops should be ok. It has the bulk needed to survive most three turn rest talk disasters. And Rest does have its advantages. It prevents Dusclops from falling victim to status moves which would otherwise severely hinder it.

Your Average Wall
Breakdown (Dusclops) @ Eviolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Night Shade
- Pain Split
- Taunt
There's really nothing remarkable about this set. The only noticeable difference here is Taunt, which is just an added support move. It prevents Dusclops from becoming setup fodder, and might annoy Ferrothorn a little. If you're so inclined, you can replace it with Substitute and do a SubSplit set. Although your results may vary on that front.

If any of you were thinking "Where are the offensive sets?!" think again. This analysis is about Dusclops, not Dusknoir. Dusclops has the offensive capabilities of a Sunkern.

Checks and Counters
Two things that will ruin any Standard Dusclops set? Taunt and Status. This can come from pretty much anything, but Sableye and Jellicent are two notable examples. If Dusclops isn't running Taunt or Rest, pretty much any status is going to give Dusclops a hard time. It also doesn't appreciate being hit with Leech Seed, which Ferrothorn will often attempt. Aside from those things, super effective powerful hits of the variety Dusclops is not EVd against will probably hurt, and it won't be able to tank them as well. Heatran can often come in on WoW and deal decent damage with Lava Plume, or even burn Dusclops. And of course, knock off is pretty much a death sentence for you.

Teammates
If it wasn't already obvious, Dusclops makes an excellent teammate for Chansey. They take care of each other's weaknesses, and are both just plain bulky as all hell. The Trick Room set makes a fantastic partner to Reuiniclus or Cofagrigus, or pretty much any other Trick Room user. Espeon can keep statuses away from you, and can often come in to deflect hazards from Dusclops' common switch ins like Ferrothorn.
