| D-O-G-A-R-S! Haiiiiii. This is my newest team, which I made when stuff like Thundurus-T was confirmed. Not much to explain tbh. Hyper Offensive Rain. '-' Also, I named the team after DOGARS which will rule you all one day. Changes are in red, btw. Politoed (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)- Scald - Toxic - Protect - Perish Song No Politoed=No Rain (Manual weather, GTFO!) Scald does average damage and BURN HAX! which helps against stuff like Scizor and Haxorus. Toxic lols at other weather inducers, Protect scouts for potentially dangerous attacks and caues more poison damage. Perish Song helps against a last pokemon sweeper like Tornadus or Jirachi. Politoed is a green frog. It trolls people. The End. Thundurus-T (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunder- Focus Blast - Volt Switch- Hidden Power [Ice] ULTIMATE VOLTTURN COUNTER! But seriously, Thundurus-T is a BEAST. With a Scarf and that gnarly base 145 Special Atttack, nothing (except Chansey) is safe. Amazing coverage is amazing. Thunder does amazing damage in rain and laughs at bulky waters. Focus blast does lol damage to everything and kills Tyranitar and Abomasnow, as well as doing sizeable damage to Ninetales. Volt Switch Does decent damage, keeps momentum and makes it much harder to get rid of. And Hidden Power is for taking down any dragons. Best. Special Sweeper. Ever. Amoonguss (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)- Spore - Clear Smog - Giga Drain - Hidden Power [Ice] Amoonguss is an unsung hero. It walls basically everything that calls itself a special attacker (Tornadus </3) and can even take some physical attacks thanks to Regenerator. Spore stops dangerous threats, like Tornadus and Jirachi. Clear Smog is mainly filler, but can help against stuff like DDNite and friends. Giga Drain does damage and stops Amoonguss from becoming Taunt bait. Hidden Power is, again for stopping dragons and Gliscor. Utility at its finest. <3 Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 252 HP / 244 SDef / 32 Spd Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Wish - Stealth Rock - Body Slam - Iron Head A lot of people say Jirachi is really good. I disagree. It's Gliscor bait amazingly good. Wish support is absolutley vital in keeping the team alive and helps against Tornadus and Thundurus. Stealth Rock trolls them as well, taking away more and more HP as they switch out of Jirachi. (This doesn't really apply to Tornadus-T, since it has Regenerator.) Body Slam does good enough damage and usually Parahaxes whatever it hits, effectivley removing threats like Banded Terrakion and Specs Latios from the game. Iron Head has a really good chance of flinching the opponent (60% iirc) and that just adds to the annoyance factor. Best base 100 poke ever <3 Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Toxic Spikes - Ice Beam - Rapid Spin - Scald I realised the old version of this team (Politoed, Haxorus, Thundurus-T, Scizor, Keldeo and Amoonguss) was really weak to hazards and that really hindered it's effectiveness. I knew that Donphan and Forretress would work and could wall some physical attackers, but Tentacruel works so much better in Rain than the other two. Toxic Spikes is for causing residual damage, which is key in wearing the opponent down and then sweeping with my two choiced attackers. I chose Ice Beam over Protect since +1 Dragonite buttfucks everyone on the team, bar Thundurus who gets killed by E-Speed, and since Amoonguss became specially defensive, it became harder to take down. Rapid Spin is the key move here, getting rid of the hazards which plague this team. Scald does nice damage in rain, and can burn stuff like Scizor and Tyranitar, which is always nice. It may not have the OP defense of Forretress, nor the stronf attack stat of Donphan, but in my opinion, Tentacruel is the best spinner there is.Haxorus (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Mold Breaker EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Aqua Tail - Superpower - Outrage - Earthquake Haxorus is a godly physical attacker and can take on many difficult pokemon. With a Choice Band it's attack hits apocalyptic levels, being able to OHKO anything that isn't Skarmory. Aqua Tail is really strong in the rain and does about 45% to standard Skarmory, oh yesh. Superpower does more damage to Skarmory than Aqua Tail when it isn't raining, and kills off Ferrothorn. Earthquake is pretty filler but can kill stuff like Heatran and Terrakion without becoming as frail as a piece of paper. It's like Rayquaza in OU. (Except without awesome stats, and a Fire move to kill Skarmory, and doesn't look as pr0, and without the insane movepool. Horrible comparison, I know.) Importable is below. Hope you enjoyed it '-' - Spoiler:
Politoed (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Scald - Toxic - Protect - Perish Song
Thundurus-T (M) @ Choice Scarf Trait: Volt Absorb EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Thunder - Focus Blast - Volt Switch - Hidden Power [Ice]
Amoonguss (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Spore - Clear Smog - Giga Drain - Hidden Power [Ice]
Jirachi @ Leftovers Trait: Serene Grace EVs: 252 HP / 244 SDef / 32 Spd Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Wish - Stealth Rock - Body Slam - Iron Head
Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Rain Dish EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk Bold Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Toxic Spikes - Ice Beam - Rapid Spin - Scald
Haxorus (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Mold Breaker EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Aqua Tail - Superpower - Outrage - Earthquake

| If you already have a max defense Politoed, why not make your Amoonguss specially defensive? Most people will try to hit it with special hits anyway, like the ice beam you mentioned. Besides this team has no special defense coverage otherwise. | |

| Thanks. I'll probably make poli specially defensive since amoonguss will have a tougher time against terrakion. |

| First off, this seems like a nice team that you have here. I would like to try the new stuff out sometime soon myself...
Anyway, a few things that I noticed. First off, I never like using too many Pokemon with choiced items (usually never more than two). Sure, it can work, but then you run the risk of becoming too 'predictable' in a sense. Also, for Thundurus, I would swap out Grass Knot for Thunderbolt. First of all, you really don't want to be locked into Grass Knot, and Amoongus, and most members of your team really, cover the Water / Ground Pokemon like Quagsire and Gastrodon. Also, it can help to have a strong electric attack that keeps you in battle, unlike Volt Switch.

| Yeah. The lack of powerful Electric STAB hurts. I'll test out Thunder/Thunderbolt over Grass Knot EDIT: Testing out Scizor over Tornadus, since I have a HUGE weakness to TR Reuniclus. EDIT: Changed Tornadus to Scizor, as it fits a lot better and counters Reuniclus as well as still being able to create a voltturn core with Thundurus. Also changed sprites for Thundurus and Keldeo. |
